​Meet the Baker
  My name is Erika Lopez, owner, baker and decorator of Redhead Sweets. This is a family based establishment that have worked hard throughout the years to give people what they crave the most. I am wife to the handsomest man I know, and a blessed mother to three wonderful children.  I served my hometown community as an educator for over 20 years. It has been an extremely rough and long road to accomplish my educational career, in which it has granted me several degrees. With that said, I can't seem to get away from the scent of buttercream and flour found in my hair on a daily basis. The man hours I invest in my edible creations are worth every sleepless nights, long weekends, and laborious holidays! The smiles on my customers' faces are pure confirmation of my dream coming true! I started baking since I was 12 years old with a starter kit my dad purchased from our local craft store.  I learned to bake and decorate for my dad's cravings of sweets. I sat on my parents' kitchen counter with a boxed cake mix and since then have evolved to what I bake today.  I never stopped learning and experimenting with flavors. I started Redhead Sweets 24 years ago to pay my way through college. I'm self-taught and always open to new ideas, and flavors. Throughout the years, I have developed a list of loyal customers that have trusted me for the most memorable events of their lives! What an honor it is to serve my community in a sweet way and therefore I cannot let go of this blessed skill that exerts through my very own hands. Nothing beats wearing an apron and letting creativity flow through my baking! There is certainly no price on a peace of mind, and I have found my peace in baking. I have faith that my community supports my contribution through my sweets and wish Redhead Sweets continues to be a part of much more memories to come.
